Toddler Teacher

I began my career as an early childhood educator more than a decade ago. Creative Minds has been my home for 7 years, and I have thrived in the family-like atmosphere we have at our center. In our toddler class, we strive to help our toddlers be independent and eager learners. My current professional goal is to update my documentation more often.

I’ve been working in childcare and at Creative Minds since October 2021. I really enjoy working in the toddler program, watching and helping our children grow. In our class, we strive to create independent and curious children. A goal I currently have is to further my knowledge and techniques with children and their different behaviours.

I graduated from the College of the North Atlantic in 2009. I have worked at Creative Minds for 9 years in the toddler room. I enjoy watching them grow and develop into little people who want to learn all about the world around them. I strive to be a welcoming, calming place for the children in my care. I excel at children’s developmental skills and how to make programs that will help a child master a skill that they are having trouble with.

I have been working at Creative Minds as an educational assistant for 4 months now. I started working here because I have always been interested in working with kids, and working here has been helping me realize that this is the work that I want to do. I work really hard here, and who knows, maybe next year I could be going to college to get my ECE and become an early childhood educator.

Laura

Preschool Teacher

I graduated in 2006 from the ECE program at Mohawk College. Creating a welcoming environment that inspires the curiosity of learning is something that I strive to accomplish. Educating young children isn’t solely about academics, but also life skills. For me, it is about giving children time to observe, explore, and connect the pieces of their world together. To be a supporter, a witness, and a cheerleader for their “Aha” moments.

I’m a registered early childhood educator for Creative Minds. I worked for my parents in their children’s entertainment business from a young age, and there I found my passion for my career in childcare and artistic expression. It fit perfectly with what I wanted to do with my life. My goals were to work with children, help them grow, learn, and solve problems together. I enjoyed studying early childhood education while at Sheridan College, graduating in 2016.
